Superstar Era (1977 - 1980)

L’Era Superstar prende il nome dalla Barbie SuperStar : il viso è nuovo, ispirato all’attrice Farrah Fawcett . Questa Barbie è sicuramente la più conosciuta e sarà la protagonista di molte serie da gioco e da collezione.

The Era Superstar takes the name of the Barbie SuperStar : the face is new, inspired by the actress Farrah Fawcett . This Barbie is definitely the best known and it will be the protagonist of many Playline and Collection.

Nel 1980 viene presentata Black Barbie (solo in Italia chiamata Ebony Christie), la prima Barbie afro-americana , dopo alcune amiche afro- americane che l’avevano preceduta (Christie, nel 1965, e Cara, nel 1974).

Ancora nel 1980 esce la prima Barbie da collezione , «Parisian» della serie «Dolls of the World» (Bambole del Mondo). Questa importante serie verrà sostanzialmente sempre mantenuta, rinnovata negli anni.

In 1980 Black Barbie was presented (only in Italy called Ebony Christie), the first Afro-American Barbie , after some African-American friends who had preceded her (Christie, in 1965, and Cara, in 1974).

Again in 1980, the first collectible Barbie was released, "Parisian" from the "Dolls of the World" series. This important series will always be maintained and renewed in the following years.
